What does our dojo chest patch mean?

I have often been asked what the symbols on our patch mean.  What we wear on our uniforms has meaning to everyone.  Our patch is a symbol of who we are as a community, and is a great representation of our martial arts standard and high quality of service we create for our community.

What does our patch mean?  What do the symbols and colors of our patch represent?

The red moon represents energy in life and our unique & energetic training intensity.  Out of Darkness comes light leading into the gold circle.  The gold represents the highest level of character and quality that are represented in our Dojo.  The black left fist is representative off our system of karate.  It is the left hand to represent our belief in achieving our goals through non – aggression and true justice.  The hand is clenched in a fist as a symbol of strength through any adversity. The black Circle that encompasses our patch represents the unity and loyalty that all of our family members, students, and instructors share.

  1. The saying remains true "you are never to old to learn something new". I had no idea Master Torres, all that is "behind" our patch & it's colors. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!!! Sempai Gray

  2. Our patch which is represented with the left fist is also the match for our brother/sister school BKG, which displays the right hand fist on its logo. Just a little trivia there.

  3. Thank you for sharing. Karate patches are completely symbolic in nature.
